About the Journal

We are excited to announce that Beyond Babel: BU Journal of Language, Literature and Humanities, a journal of the Department of Languages and Literary Studies, Babcock University, Ilisan-Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria is accepting papers for its Vol.9, No.1 due for publication by 30-06-2025. Journal which seeks to reflect developments in the general fields of English and French Studies: Language and Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Literatures and Cultures of the English-and French-speaking countries. The journal therefore provides a forum in which scholars working within any subfield of English and French studies can address a cross-section of the field. As a Bilingual/interdisciplinary journal, Beyond Babel represents the best emerging research and scholarship from teacher-scholars working within all institutional types, and appeals to a broad, informed readership within English and French studies including Humanities and Education. This edition will be published online and in print in Open Access with Digital Object Identifier (D.O.I) indexed in Google ScholarOpen Aire, Zenodo, Dimensions and Garuda.

Submission Guidelines

  1. Papers should bear the titlename of author (s), institutionand email and phone numbers on the paper’s cover page.
  2. The paper must be accompanied with an abstract of not more than 250 words.
  3. There should be 5-6 keywords immediately after the abstract.
  4. Text should be in Times New Roman and in 12pt font size.
  5. Manuscripts must be written in English or French, using 5 line spacing throughout the paper, except for the abstract and all indentations, which should be single line spacing.
  6. Text should not exceed eighteen (18) pages.
  7. Plagiarism should not be more than 20% in turn-it-in.
  8. All manuscripts should be submitted electronically as an attachment (Microsoft Words) to beyondbabelbujournaloflanguage@gmail.com
  9. Authors should strictly, follow the 6th edition of APA (Language) and the 7th edition of MLA (Literature) referencing styles respectively.
