About the Journal
IDAN: Journal of Performance Culture and Film Studies is a distinguished peer-reviewed journal published by Department of Theatre Arts, College of Humanities and Culture (Ikire Campus), Osun State University Osogbo, Osun State. It serves as a vital platform for scholars, researchers, and practitioners to engage in critical discourse on performance, culture, and film studies.
The journal welcomes original research articles, thought-provoking essays, book and performance reviews, insightful interviews, and innovative practice-led studies. We encourage contributions that provide fresh theoretical insights, interdisciplinary perspectives, and critical analyses of African and global performance traditions, film studies, linguistic and literary studies, and cultural studies.
As a fully Open Access journal, IDAN ensures that scholarly knowledge is freely accessible to researchers, educators, and students worldwide. Every published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), ensuring enhanced visibility, long-term citation impact, and global accessibility. Our journal is indexed in leading academic databases, including Google Scholar, OpenAIRE, Zenodo, ScienceGate, CrossRef, Web of Science, Academia.edu, and PKP, maximizing scholarly reach and recognition.
We are excited to announce the launch of our inaugural edition and invite scholars and researchers to submit high-quality manuscripts that align with our thematic focus. Published biannually in June and December, IDAN upholds rigorous academic standards through a double-blind peer review process, ensuring the publication of only the most impactful and well-researched works.
