IDAN: Journal of Performance Culture and Film Studies is a distinguished peer-reviewed journal published by Department of Theatre Arts, College of Humanities and Culture (Ikire Campus), Osun State University Osogbo, Osun State. It serves as a vital platform for scholars, researchers, and practitioners to engage in critical discourse on performance, culture, and film studies.

The journal welcomes original research articles, thought-provoking essays, book and performance reviews, insightful interviews, and innovative practice-led studies. We encourage contributions that provide fresh theoretical insights, interdisciplinary perspectives, and critical analyses of African and global performance traditions, film studies, linguistic and literary studies, and cultural studies.

As a fully Open Access journal, IDAN ensures that scholarly knowledge is freely accessible to researchers, educators, and students worldwide. Every published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), ensuring enhanced visibility, long-term citation impact, and global accessibility. Submission Guidelines

The journal accepts the following types of submissions: Research Articles: (4,500-5,000 words), Book, Film, or Performance Reviews: (1,000 words), Interviews with Scholars and Practitioners: (1,000 - 1,500 words) and Practice-Led Research Papers: (4,000 - 5,000 words).

Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. Use Times New Roman, 12-point font, and double-spacing throughout. Titles and headings should be formatted in boldface, with only the first letter of each major word capitalised. IDAN follows the MLA (7th edition).

Each submission must include an abstract of 200-250 words summarising the key argument, methodology, and findings. Provide 4-6 keywords to facilitate indexing and discoverability. All figures, tables, and images must be numbered consecutively and accompanied by descriptive captions. Authors must obtain the necessary permissions for any copyrighted materials included in their manuscript.

 Images should be submitted in high resolution (JPEG or PNG format, at least 300 dpi) separately, with their placement indicated in the text. Manuscripts should be submitted as an email attachment to [adewale.oyewo@uniosun.edu.ng and nicholas.akpore@uniosun.edu.ng] with the subject line: "Manuscript Submission - [Title of Paper]." A separate cover page should be attached, containing: Title of the paper, Author's full name, institutional affiliation, and contact details and a brief bio (50 words). The main manuscript should not contain any identifying information to ensure a blind review process. All submissions undergo double-blind peer review by at least two experts in the field. Authors will receive feedback within 8-12 weeks of submission. If revisions are required, authors must submit the revised manuscript within 4 weeks. Submissions must be original and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors must adhere to ethical research practices, including proper attribution and avoidance of plagiarism. The journal will be published online.
