This study seeks to investigate the cultural diversity awareness as determinants of community development among secondary school students in Egbeda local government area, Oyo state, Nigeria. Cultural diversity awareness is seen as one of the factors for tackling community development involvement in our secondary schools. Although, many schools include civic education into their curriculum which invariably has no effect on their disposition towards community development involvement, therefore causing low students’ involvement in cultural events and heritage preservation, knowledge of cultural diversity is critical for promoting unity and cooperation. Need for research to appraise the efficacy of cultural diversity awareness as drivers of community development which has risen from studies on overall youth participation in community development. Looking at the contributions of cultural diversity awareness of community development, little or no attention has been paid to fixing this gap and equally important in defining student civic engagement in creating awareness of cultural diversity for community development projects that including environmental preservation, and health awareness campaigns in Egbeda local government area of Oyo State. It is however recommended that the government should ensure full incorporation of cultural diversity education into the secondary school curriculum, schools should also encourage inclusive practice that celebrates cultural diversity and promotes inclusiveness.
