This study investigates the influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on students’ learning mindset, with particular emphasis on motivation, engagement, and approaches to learning. The study was conducted in Benin City, Nigeria. A survey research design was adopted, with a target population of 200 students, from which a sample of 100 students was selected using stratified sampling techniques to ensure fair representation across relevant student groups. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistical methods.
The findings reveal that the use of AI technologies in education positively influences students’ learning mindset by facilitating personalized learning experiences, enhancing understanding of academic content, and encouraging independent learning. These benefits contribute to improved motivation and active engagement in the learning process. However, the study also identifies notable challenges associated with AI adoption, including students’ overreliance on technology and inadequate digital literacy skills.
The study reveals that artificial intelligence has a positive impact on students at Igbinedion Education Centre by significantly improving their access to academic resources. AI enables students to obtain timely, diverse, and personalized learning materials, thereby supporting effective learning and academic engagement. However, the study also emphasizes the importance of proper guidance, digital literacy training, and responsible use of AI technologies to maximize these benefits and reduce potential challenges associated with overreliance on technology.
